Hi All,
I live in the UK, and have been trying to obtain the developer edition of sql server 2012. So far, I have found this to be impossible without an MSDN subscription (which I'm not currently inclined to shell out for).
I want a copy of developer edition for personal use (i.e. learning/practice at home, rather than in a work capacity) - I've obtained a copy of all the developer editions since 2005. However, I can't find any retailer that can sell to me. Amazon UK lists the product as "Unavailable", Amazon US says it cannot ship SQL Server to the UK, Microsoft's own website leads you through many pages of "how to buy" without actually telling you how, or where, to buy if you aren't a company looking to buy volume licensing.
Basically, I just want to pay the £50 (or whatever the price is for the new version) for a boxed 2012 Developer edition. Its pretty frustrating that Microsoft makes it this hard to give them money!
Does anyone know where I can purchase a copy, living in the UK?
Thanks in advance

Its listed on Amazon UK (and has been for some time), but it seems permanantly stuck with "Currently Unavailable". While I can see it in stock on Amazon US, when i try to buy i get "We are not able to ship this item to your default shipping address.".
So sadly, it looks like amazon isn't going to be of use.

Your right 2012 Dev is difficult to get hold of - WHY??? After trying all suggestions here I too went for Grey Matter. They were the cheapest, it was available immediately with lots of expedited methods of delivery if required.
Cheers Dan 🙂

Bought mine from GM too, about fifty quid IIRC. What you actually get is four licences and the choice of what you want to do with them, which can be really handy. GM were prompt and efficient, highly recommended.
