True, and as much as I love the idea of that it's a time management thing as well.
I usually tend to do that sort of thing and then put my regular projects on hold when they shouldn't be. Kind of a fine balance.
I'll talk to her tomorrow and see some low-level details and see where I could go with it.

[font="Verdana"]I guess the thing that worries me is the thought that "so long as I'm not using a cursor, it's okay." It's not the cursor that is the problem, it's the row-by-row approach (that a cursor facilitates). What would have happened if your developer had written the code with a loop that didn't need a cursor, but still processed the result sets one row at a time?
The good news is that your developer came and spoke to you. That's a positive step. π
