Hello - we installed SQL 2008 Developer when preparing for a migration and then installed 2008 Standard to host our production data. I just ran a setup discovery report and noticed that a number of shared components, including Client Tools and Integration Services, are still associated with the Developer Edition. Is this a problem - should I reassociate these tools with standard or is it ok to leave them as is and they will function fine?

I think license-wise this could be a problem, as the developer edition is not allowed to be used in a production environment.
Furthermore, developer edition is capable of certain features that standard edition doesn't have. So you could develop an SSIS solution that cannot run on the standard edition.

Thank you.
What would be the approach to change? Can I just run installer and install them for standard, or do I have to uninstall them for developer and then re-install for standard. I hope it is as as easy as just running the standard installer.

Aha. Looks like I just run the upgrade on the Developer edition to bring it up to standard, this should also upgrade the shared components. If I'm incorrect please advise, otherwise this is how I would proceed.

That indeed seems the way to go.
