Detect Corrupt Statistics - Is there a way?

  • Hmm. Anything that causes stats corruption is a bug in SQL Server. Did they mean some SQL query is causing the corruption? Are they investigating the bug? This sounds very strange.

Nope, they just said this happened from an action from the application. From our side it is not possible to recreate this since we do not know which action made the stats corrupted. They did not pin point any specific query.

  • An application cannot cause corruption (of any form) unless it encounters a bug in SQL.

  • Thanks Gail. I am really anxious to find the root cause, let me check with Microsoft. Thanks

  • Ask them to be specific. Maybe mention you're talking to me and I'll be discussing the case with Bob Ward. 🙂
