Derived Coulmn not appearing in the Output in SSIS 2008

  • I am not able to view my Derived column in the output from Derived Column transformation. I am not using any input column/variable to derive this and it contains simple text like "String 1".

I have checked the properties in "Advanced Editor" of this transformation and this column appears fine there. However, it doesn't appear in DataViewer output and apparently in the Final output.

    Any thoughts?

Have you mapped the derived column to a destination column?

  • Yes Phil, that was mapped to the destination.

I tried to create 1 more derived column transformation and deriving a different column (Say "String 2)" and interestingly it started showing the derived column "String 1" in the Dataviewer ouput. Not sure it has to do something with metadata refresh. I never observed such issue with this transformation before.

    Weird but it worked!
