Hi,
I need to shortly deploy the SQL 2012 client to a large number of users - i'd rather not make the full ISO available to them.
Is there an easier way to give them just the client tools ?
TIA,
MJW

it looks to me that on my 2012 DVD, you could simply grab the 58 meg MSI found here:
{YourDrive} X:\x64\Setup\sql_ssms.msi, right?

i just tested this on a virtual Win7/64 installation:
sql_ssms.msi failed for me, and so did sql_tools.msi. it might be failing due to prerequeisites, i'll check that next.

No joy for me either - why do Microsoft tie us up in knots at times...

Have you had a look at config files?

What about just giving them access to SQL Server Management Studio 2012 express?
