hi i am using SQL server 2005 reporting services and build a report but when i am trying to deploy it , it throws the error
A connection could not be made to the report server http://localhost/reportserver
I would really appreciate the help,

I would suggest you double check the url of your reporting services portal site.
You could also go to the portal site and deploy it there.
You can create a folder to store your reports and click the upload button and you will be able to browse directly to your rdl file.

Your reports can only be deployed on a reporting services site. Your only option for viewing them from other sites is an HTTP link. Some tools, like SharePoint offer controls allowing you to view reports in the context of the other websites, but the report is still deployed to and hosted from reporting services.
