Deleting LOG FILES automatically

  • How do we delete the LOG FILES in the database at the end of the day or some other setting that limits the size of the Database.

  • please elaborate.

You could take a log-backup and move that from your db-server.

    Check recovery-models in BOL.

If your logfiles grow more than you'd expect, or you've performed an operation causing the logfiles to grow to much, check shrink-file in BOL.

If it's sqlserver-ERRORLOG file you're looking for, you could use sp_cycle_errorlog (check BOL), but only _after_ you've analyzed what's causing it to log so much.
