All of Ralph Kimball's books are good, but I'd suggest the following as a first read, because it covers concepts of star-schema modeling, slowly changing dimensions, types of fact tables, requirements gathering using the business matrix technique, etc.
The Data Warehouse ToolKit, Third Edition: The Definitive Guide to Dimensional Modeling, 3rd edition, 2013
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Data-Warehouse-ToolKit-Third-Dimensional/dp/1118530802
The Data Warehouse ETL Toolkit: Practical Techniques for Extracting, Cleaning, Conforming, and Delivering Data, 2004
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Data-Warehouse-ETL-Toolkit-Techniques/dp/0764567578
Books specific to SQL Server, SSIS, and the Microsoft technology stack; I'd suggest reading them only after first reading the above.

I second the Kimball books recommendation. While they may seem old, the wealth of information in them is difficult to match.
For PowerBi, here is a good article:

Hi, I am sorry I haven't seen the older version so I cant say what the differences are.
The books are great so long as you have a good knowledge of SQL databases and SSMS.
They give you a guide to creating an architecture for your DW but obviously your data is unique to your company so there is a limit.
I have done some Microsoft courses on this stuff and the tutors always mention Kimble as being the definitive word on DW design.
Happy Trails

Thanks again Dave.
Did you go on to buy other Kimball books or did you find the one you've a photo of the only one you needed to understand the concepts?

Hi, I ordered the ETL book (2nd in the set) the other day. I am excited to read it.

Ralph Kimball retired, but other members of the group have continued the work under a new name:

I don't know if the old website gets any of the new updates.
