Delete trigger to catch every row

  • ok, will give it a try.

The main problem I had was delete, and that one worked like a charm.

    (atleast the result was perfect)

  • I know of a company that ceased to exist because they lost information due to mis-coded triggers like you have. It is a scarily common problem with trigger code!! I just came across another client recently that has a very significant part of their application logic in triggers that are variable driven. They ported the app from Oracle and were about to roll out the system when they brought me in for a review. They would have also ceased to exist had they switched to the new system. Of course they are now looking at several hundred manhours of refactoring and testing to fix the app . . . but that is better than the alternative!
