Oops, I misspelled your name. Apologies, Kraig!

LOL, at this point, either is acceptable. 😉 :w00t:

It just depends on which of the twins you want to talk to... the evil one with his goatee or his occassionally shaved good brother. 😎

Now which one of the two is you? I wouldn't mind shaving either.

Got twins too, younger ones. One of them certainly doesn't need shaving. 😉

Ah, you were, I guess, absent when this started. Originally someone mispelled my name, Craig, as Kraig... while quoting me so it was in the header line. It became a short running joke and eventually I decided I could be my own Evil Twin, so I changed my display name. 😎

The correct spelling is always in my signature. 🙂

Never stop learning, even if it hurts. Ego bruises are practically mandatory as you learn unless you've never risked enough to make a mistake.

  • You could capture the HOST_NAME(). This gives the computer name that the user was on.

    I use this. Works great.

Don't know if this gives you enough information to go on, though. Does in our case.

Does the user know the username and password to the SQL authenticated login that the app uses? I assume that is the only way they can get back in and do stuff. If so, try to mitigate that issue.

Maybe a better thing do is have a logon trigger that only lets that username use the application that it is supposed to.

Here is a link that explains that.

    http://www.sqlservercentral.com/scripts/Security/69558/

That way, if they are using SSMS or any other application, and using that username, it won't let them log in.

TEST THIS ON A DEV BOX FIRST! THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS, especially if you are new to logon triggers!
