It is possible to edit a comment, and I have noticed blank comments too where the content has been deleted, so why not a delete option? There may be one already but I am simply missing it, along with a screw or two...................

We debated this. It's turned off because people will often post something, get an answer, and then delete the thread. Our goal is to avoid that. If they can edit, it amounts to the same thing, but few people do that.

We do delete posts for valid reasons, but often not because "I just want to"

Good point, had not considered that the OP would want to delete, was just thinking about responses that sometimes get repeated due to rapid finger use.
