Hi All
I'm confused about the the topic of Deferred transactions (-spids) and database recovery
I read and tested the steps in this article by Paul Randal: http://www.sqlskills.com/BLOGS/PAUL/post/Disaster-recovery-101-dealing-with-negative-SPIDS-(-2-and-3).aspx
I was able to re-create the situation
My question is that why does the Database come up as suspect?
Because the Database can't roll back/forward the transaction(s) because of the missing files, shouldn't the database go into a Recovery Pending state?
Thanks

Recovery pending means that it waiting an attempt to recover a file, not the it tried to recovery the file and failed.
