Can anyone tell me what the server login does? can I remove it? I have tried looking around, but searching on server and login does not lead to very specific results. Actually I would be interested in a rundown of the usage of all of the default logins that come with SQL Server...
Thanks!

Where do you see this?

Well it may not be a default thing. It is on all of our servers ( I have inherited some lovely setups) and with a name like server I assumed it was a default. I guess I can remove it and see who screams!

If you know the password you could change the password. That way if someone screams, you can easily put everything back.
Another option would be to script everything related to this login so that you can put it back if needed.
