  Hello

  MSSQL 7 or 2000; using EM tool

  Using Enterprise Manager, any thoughts as to how to change the default data and log files naming convention from having _data and _log appended automatically to the end of OS name at database creation time?

  ie: create a db called test; default created is test_data.MDF/test_log.LDF; would like only .mdf/.ldf appended ... ie: test.mdf/test.ldf

  I don't think there is a way to change this behavior, although you can certainly specify the name of the files during the database creation process.
