I'm unable to connect to my SQL Server, because (I think) the default database is offline. When I click on the server in Enterprise Manager I get the message: Cannot open user default database.
I know the server is running ok, because I can access other databases on that server via their client front-ends.
However, I can't get access to the server in order to bring the default database back online. I'm sure it's offline, because as part of an overnight job the database is taken offline, then brought back online. I suspect that the second part has failed.
Does anyone know how I can do this? My login has full admin rights to the SQL Server, if that's any help.

Problem solved.
I was able to connect using an account that had a different default database to the usual logins. I was then able to bring the other database online.
And all is well with the world
