I need to completely de-install SQl Server 2005. I used Add/remove programs to remove all listed components. I also deleted nearly all SQl Server components in c:\program files\Microsoft SQl Server. I also deleted any obvoius registry entries.
This progress is necessary so I can do a clean re-install.
The win2003 server still thinks it has SQl Server installed. Did i miss anything?
Thanks.
Fizz.

look around for Veritas Backup Exec, or any other program that may have installed a named instance, like for instance Ms Small Business Accounting, etc.
Hope this helps

Was in a similar situation: uninstalled SQLSERVER2005 , services still showing up.
A simple re-boot resolved the issue.

I messed it up pretty good. I asked tech staff to rebuild the server.
Ms has a tech net article about this, but it did not work.
