I entered the following statement and got the following results:
/*-----------------------------
dbcc checkdb
-----------------------------*/
Server: Msg 7404, Level 16, State 2, Line 2
The server could not load DCOM.
I googled DCOM and got a sqlservercentral article which said at the end to reload the server software. I did this and the problem disappeared for about 30 minutes.
I am running: Microsoft SQL Enterprise Manager Microsoft Corporation Version: 8.0
How do I fix/get around this?
Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Been a long time since I looked at DCOM.
I had a document at one time of notes when I was troubleshooting it but I can not find it at the moment.
There is a configuration tool for dcom that you can verify settings in.
You can find some links on google searching for dcom config.
