We have recently been awarded a government contract and now must meet new security standards. One of these new requirements in to monitor the database application software and DBMS application objects. We think this means the content of the SQL Server install directory.
Are there any products which will allow us to do a snapshot of these files and compare this snapshot to the current files to determine if the files have been changed? Are there any products that will monitor the registry keys? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Not sure about this. I'd think this is more of a Windows monitoring tool than a SQL Server tool.

This is true, however, I thought that some people here might have had the same requirements as we do and could give us some suggestions for software.

Our security folks use Tripwire for auditing like this.

If you have to monitor the files/status of a particular disk volumn Tripwire is definitely the way to go.
