DBMAIL IN SQL SERVER 2005

  • I am using DBMAIL in SQL Server 2005 and facing following error during test mail

Exception Message: Cannot send mails to mail server. (Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: must be authenticated).

I feel, that there is problem in my profile/account settings. but not understand wats wrong.

Any one help me abt it.

    Thanks

  • It sounds like you are trying to use anonymous access to the smtp server and you need to provide user name and password on the mail account you have setup.

  • The mail server is requesting you a valid user/password before you can send the message.

Ask you mail administrator for this info, if it's inside your network maybe he/she/they can setup mail server configuration so it allows that you can send mail from your SQL server without authenticate.
