hi guys 🙂is there a full description or a white paper for this command ?
There isn't yet, but if you plan on storing the future document into a filestream table, and plan a backup for that, you should be able to use this to restore that future backup, which should then give you enough information to be able to do that.

Um.... Take a look at the comments on the first page, take a look at the forum this is in. Does it look serious?

I've never been more serious in my life. At last I can join in a discussion on an area where I am a real self-appointed expert.

I'll have to remember that. Not all DBCC questions on Twitter should be sent to Paul Randal. 🙂

I thought DBCC Timewarp was like Gravity, its always been there, the theory just needed to be expounded.

Gail, I'm not sure past-tense verbs work in this context. Didn't Hitchhiker's Guide have a discussion of verb tenses in time travel situations?

No, but the common English language has only 3 tenses, so it's a little tricky sometimes. Do you suggest rather phrasing time-related portions in Vulcan?

I recommend Klingon.

Nope. Not accurate anymore. I used timewarp to alter the past. I am now the inventor :-D:-D

You mean "I used timewarp to alter the future.", not the past. Memory loss causing you to forget the future?

Mehmetburak,
Full-spectrum reflectance writing surfaces are extremely dangerous when combined with discussion of this topic. You may wish to peruse this excellent overview. published on the web by the Prince Academy in Minneapolis.

It's all just spinning and merging now. Which brings me to another feature of Timewarp. You can instantiate merge replication from the 151st parameter so long as it is placed before all other parameters in the chain.

My hamster just fell through a distortion in the space-time continuum. Is it possible to get him back using DBCC TIMEWARP. Please help, he was my best friend.Ooops!
Could you please specify your target time?
I guess you messed up one of the addtl. parameter 11 or 13 together with a typo in your space-time value, because all of a sudden something like a hamster materialiezed in my microwafe yesterday. Unfortuntely, I was just cooking some beef stroganoff at the same time. After a rather noisy "PLOPP" (I couldn't find any reason for until I read your post) the beef tasted a little strange and had some fluffy elements I didn't remember to have added...
Agggghhhh noooo!!!!!!
Oh well. Was that with rice?
Yes with rice and roasted almond slices. The almonds may have been the reason I didn't detect the bones...

The ironic part of this recommendation is that you'd actually need to know at least the standard parameter setting for DBCC TIMEWARP in order to be able to restore the future backup.
Once you know how to do it you wouldn't need the whitepaper anymore. At least not for restoring future backups.
Btw: does somebody know anything about the side effect of changing the white paper into a blacklist of some parameter combinations known to have failed in the future-past? Is there a parameter to avoid that?
