I'm no expert, but I'd say patience — e.g. with inexact informational requirements.

Good understanding of RDBMS.
Good understanding of the Architecture (oracle, SQL Server..)
Should ble able to design databases in a proper way.
Ability to analyse and identify a problem whenevr it occurrs.
Ability to chose suitable method to solve the issues in minimum time.
Ability to foresee the impact in database server for the changes being made (eitehr in application level or database level).
... and yes, You should have patience.

Attention to detail.
Which server are you connected to? You might want to know before you run that drop table command.
Does this UPDATE query have a WHERE clause? Be sure before you run it in production.
Etc.
