Hi,
Can any one tell what is part of DBA in SAN expansion.
In our envorlment we have sql custer 2008,On which SAN team is doing SAN expansion for one of the Data DRIVE.
1)Can any one tell what is our Sql dba part in tha?.
2) what are steps we have to follow?

Ensure you have a good backup of anything which resides on that LUN, just incase the worst happens.
Typically the SAN guy should add the extra space into the LUN and do the DISKPART on the server to expand the drive into the increased space.

2)can you clarify whether we need to take entire SQL group OFFLINE or only sql services Offline
I am Confused here.Please clarify.

You shouldnt need to take any services offline, it should all be done seamlessly.
If you do want to take services offline for piece of mind, then just stop SQL as the disks will need to be online to be able to do the DISKPART commands to perform the expansion.
