  • Keep in mind that even though the market for Oracle may look good it does have a lot of requirements to work under that are different from SQL so you will have to make sure you are up to speed on every major version since 7 because you will find many changes from 7 forward and many companies have systems laying around that far back and sometimes further (at least here in the US). Also, I am not sure now but most companies generally require an Oracle Cert and those have been quite costly from my last look. However I do say expand your horizon and do it just to further your options. Plus with your SQl background it will make you a great canidate for a mixed environment which is far more the norm now.
