Hi,
On SQL 2005 standard when I create a new SQL Login under User Mapping it shows that a specific DB role is selected but yet when I save the user it does not actually save the role assignment. I have to go back into the user and check off the role again, save and finally the login is added to the role.
Even if I uncheck and re-check the role while I am first creating the login it doesn't save it. Only once the user is saved will it actually assign the DB Role to it.
This is new over the last few weeks and I can not find what changed on the server to cause this.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kelsey

Have you tried the Script option on the create-user form, to see what it's trying to do?

On SQL 2005 standard...
This may be an SSMS issue, not a server issue. As suggested, check the script SSMS is producing to see if it is producing what you need. Also check for updates to SSMS itself. You may be running into a bug in the GUI.
