Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find documentation stating that it's OK (or not) to configure DB mirroring between a 32bit SQL cluster and a new 64bit SQL cluster?
I think it might help if I give a little background, so here goes.
We are currently planning a migration of a clients infrastructure from SQL Server 2005 32bit to either SQL2005 64bit or SQL2008 64bit (the exact version of SQL is still to be decided but what we do know is we need to move away from 32bit). Due to the customers requirement for high availability during the migration, we can only work on one of the clusters at any one time. If we begin with their DR cluster based in Frankfurt, we may be asked to recreate DB mirroring of their databases until we've had chance to complete the work on their production cluster in London.
Can anyone confirm whether the DBs can be mirrored when one cluster is still setup in 32bit while the other cluster is working in 64bit?
Regards,
