Hi,
I created a new db maintenance plan to backup system databases.
No problems on creating it. everything went fine.
When I ran the job using the "start job" option, it failed.
The error message is
The job failed. Unable to determine if the owner (xyz\murali) of job DB Backup Job for DB Maintenance Plan 'DB Maintenance Plan1 for system databases' has server access (reason: Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user 'xyz\murali'. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 8198)).
Any suggestions to look for?
Thanks

make sure you are the local administrator and has all privileges. Or try to run under sa account

Good suggestion.
I am in the domain administrator group which I guess should take care of it.
It did not work with the domain id.
I did assign the job to 'sa' and it worked fine.
Question is, why?
Thanks
Murali
