  • I am trying to create a SQL 2005 db maintenance tasks document. Can anyone provide me inputs/ouputs and/or basic template. I will appreciate it.

  • Ok I post some topics but in general, try to find more info from BOL:

    1. Backups

    2. Disk Space

    3. Job Failures

    4. System Checks

    5. Performance

    6. Connectivity

    7. Replication ( If you have )

    8. Security Checks (by Silverfox)

    9. Data file and log file growth rate % (by Henrico Bekker)

    10. Errors relating to SQL in Windows Logs ((by Henrico Bekker)

I edited the post adding also other suggestions from the friends of this post ...thnx!

Can you explain it a bit for what purpose you are preparing this document?

I mean, is it just the infomatery or somebody is going to perform actions based on the instructions/step right from the document?

You could also add security checks which is more server level but still important as well as log shipping or clustering
