Date Function to create a monthly report (my be a dumb question)

  This is probably easy to do, however, I need help.

  I am looking to extract data with my select statement from a sql 2005 database and send out a report on a weekly or monthly basis via outlook in Excel format. my tools are ssrs and ssis. What date functions can I use to automtically change the dates to the current month (and also the end of that month, as they have a different number of end dates) without having to manually go in a change the month?

  What do you want to change the month in? A query? A filename? The e-mail?
