Apologies if this is not the correct Forum for this question and further apologies if it's a topic that crops up regularly. However it does involve backups and I couldn't find anything with a search of the topic, hence the post.
My problem is that when I need to add a database to a Maintenance Plan involving Differential or Log backups I have to re-select all the original databases as well. Is there a reason for this or is it something that can be fixed as it's really irritating?

YaHozna.

Hi YaHozna,
Please let us know the SQL Server version you are using. This is required before we can go in details.

This is one of the many known bugs with Maintenance Plans.
There is a patch for this issue, not entirely sure which one though.
Personally, I try and remove Maintenance Plans on any of our clients servers. They are just too much trouble to maintain when simple T-SQL scripts can perform the same functions without fail.

Thanks for the input Phill. You may well be right about ditching the MPs. I'll give it some thought.
