Hi Experts,
One of our team member is suggesting to create database snapshot before doing application install so that if something goes wrong in db values also we can revert back from snapshot,i agree with him on data changes but what if any other changes happen or if database gets corrupted?
Normally we will restore the backup if application installation fails.
Can anyone point me any issue if we go with database snapshot? We will deleting the snapshot after installation

I do both, ensure I have a backup and log chain, and do a snapshot, its much quicker to restore from snapshot than backup.
Restoring from snapshot reverts everything you have done, DML & DDL.
If you get corruption, then you just restore from backup.

is it possible to recover the source database which got corrupted by some means by using its snapshot?
