Database restoring error : "Reference number 5"

    Hi I have inherited a sql backup file which has 'torn_page' error, I think, when I try to restore it.I do not have any other backups or log files and would like to restore it.I have done some googleing about restoring it but nothing useful .

    If anyone know how to restore the database even though I understand some data would be lost but it should't be a problem.

    the error looks like this :

    Restore failed for Server xxy

    An inconsistency was detected during an internal operation. Please contact technical support. Reference number 5

    Try running restore with the CONTINUE_AFTER_ERROR option. If that doesn't work then the backup is not restorable.

    I tried what you said and I get the same error.It means that is over.. :-), unfortunately.Any other "methods"? even if they are more destructive.

    Nope. If that doesn't work, it won't restore.
