.bak file is in another machine.(not in server, from server i given path of that .bak file)

because for past 2 hours its showing 0%.

    Thanks in advance

  • It depends....

    Speed of network

    IO performance

What else is happening on the servers

  • no other tasks..only database restore is running on the server, also .bak file is in local network machine.

  • Like a previous poster stated It depends... it really does... the age of your server, memory, high cpu when you are running the restore... high or low I/O operations....etc...

I can take a db backup of some size and restore it into different servers and the restore will take different lengths of time.

About the only way to know is to do it one time and you will know how long it will take.

Not the answer you want to hear but....
