hi all,
I have Sql server 2000 on Windows 2000.
Recently i faced this error our database tables are getting locked automatically in interaval of 4-5hrs.
And in current activity log i saw this error
Using 'xpstar.dll' version '2000.80.760' to execute extended stored procedure 'xp_instance_regread'.
Wat does this error imply? and why tables are getting lock and unable to release?
Thanks,
Neerav

It is not an error, the extended stored procedure is used to read values from the registry. I doubt that it is related to your problems.

Do you have some sort of job or large query that runs at a regular interval that might be causing a table lock?
