Does anyone know if one database can be mirrored to two different locations with the generic database mirroring set up?
Please advise.

Not until Denali gets released. Currently you can only have a single mirror. If you want two locations then you have to mirror to one and log ship to the other.
Once Denali is released (as SQL 2012), then you will be able to mirror to up to 4 locations, but I believe they're now calling then replicas rather than mirrors.

Do you know if a back-door exists for said issue?

In 2008 a mirroring setup can only have one principal and one mirror. End of story.
SQL 2012 (Denali) has AlwaysOn which allows for multiple active replicas. This is a new feature, it's not an enhancement to mirroring, SQL 2012 will still have the old mirroring feature as well
