The job succeeded. The Job was invoked by Schedule 6 (Daily). The last step to run was step 1 (FullBackup). NOTE: Failed to notify 'DBATeam' via email.

Please advice me how to find out the reason for this failure...

  • Can you send a test message? I'd be sure the profile is still valid.

Send Test mail is working fine and I'm able to get an email. But when the job succeeds, I'm not getting the email.

After the testing the Send mail from database mail, I can see the below log from Database mail log:

    DatabaseMail process is started

and there are no events for dates 12th & 13th in database mail log!!

    please advice

  • Check the views in the msdb database that start with dbo.sysmail*.

  • Try the following

    1. Right click on SQL Server Agent --> Properties --> Alert System --> Select the Database Mail as mail system and the mail profile (do this even if it is showing the right mail system and profile)

    2. If 1 doesn't resolve the issue Restart SQL Agent

    3. Make sure profile is set as public

I've seen this issue when you use scripts to configure database mail.

  • Hi SA,

Restarting the SQLAgent worked. But I do not know the reason behind it!!

  • It may have to do with the registry not updating during the setup or the restart causes the agent to go back and reload all the settings.

Out of curiosity, are you configuring database mail via scripts?

    Maybe someone else can explain.

No, I have used Database mail wizard to configure database mail setup.
