Database Mail Error :(

  • Dear All,

    I have configured database mail on my production servers by opening port no 25 and its working perfectly fine for all the servers except 2 of them.

    1) One of them being Sql Server 2008 and the other one is Sql Server 2005.

    2) The error message that I can see in the error logs is

    (Transaction failed. The server response was: Mail from DBA@mycompany.com rejected for policy reasons.).

    )

    3) I have contacted the smtp team and as per their response, there is no issue with the SMTP server settings since its the same for all the production servers.

    Is there any other possible way where I can check for resolution of this issue for these 2 servers?

    Thanks..

  • check with your exchange server team, is it allowed to use SMTP server to send mail from your server IP.

  • Yes. And I am also able to telnet my smtp port successfully from both these servers.

    I am using anonymous authentication and have also tried using BAsic Authentication but it doesn't seem to work.

    The same error on both the servers. All other servers are just working fine with the Same SMTP server and port 25.
