How to enable Database Mail feature first time in SqlServer 2005.

If you simply want to enable it use the Surface Area Configuration tool. If you wan tto use Database Mail you have to configure it. Therefore in SSMS right-click on Dtabase mail and select "Configure Database Mail".
And maybe try reading Books Online, you should have found this information within seconds.

If you want to use DBMail for alerts, be sure to enable this in the SQL Server Agent properties.

hi,
Sql server surface configuration ---> surface area configuration for features --->select Database mail ---> enable database mail store procedures
This will enable database mail.
