We will be iexpanding our database about 40GB in the very near future. The current size is 250GB and there is 88GB free on the SAN. So, there is enough space for the expansion. Can anyone guess at how long it would take to expand all at once? Should we do 10GB at a time or do all 40Gb at once. Any guesses how long it would take. Using SQL 2000 SP4 standard edition with 4GB memory quad processors.

both way its fine....though just to avoid any unforseen issues, database blocking....preferable 10gb at once....

Double posting is so rude... waste time answering one only to find answer on the other.
