I think that the question should have been re-phrased slightly, from :
"SQL Server 2008 has which new features/keys for database encryption"
...to:
"SQL Server 2008 introduces which new features/keys for database encryption"
Database Master Keys were introduced in SQL Server 2005, but for those people who have not yet upgraded to SQL Server 2005 they could still be seen as being a new feature.

The answer's explanation has a typo, "DML" should be replaced with "DMK" for Database Master Key.

Totally agree, I answered far too quickly as in my view it's part and parcel of the encryption thing.
Good question though, draws attention to some important features.
