Recently my company had a re-organization. I was assigned to work for a different boss. Actually his title is CIO. He gave me an assignment to create a web site. I told him I am a database developer and not a .net c# developer. It would take me a while to learn up to speed to do the project. He looked at me liked I was lying. In his mind a developer is a developer that he/she should be able to do any kind of programming.
Is my new boss the only one who has a misception of different kind of programming???

no, i have come across the same misconception as well even from direct bosses that still have no idea what a sql dba/developer does..
Also there a lot of c# developers who would also struggle to create a decent website
