Database deployment on-prem vs data center

  • We currently have a number of applications connecting to a SQL Server 2022 database.

Web servers / API server, etc and SQL server are all in our data center.

We are considering new clients that would require these same applications, but they want us to deploy to their on-premise servers.

This is due to either cross-border restrictions or business requirements.

I am just curious if you had any input / advice? What to consider? What to look out for?

How would our database deployment change (if at all)

  • Thanks for posting your issue and hopefully someone will answer soon.

  • If YOUR data center isn't "on the cloud", the On-Prem shouldn't be too different.  Normally, "on-prem" is another way of saying that the "data center" is not only owned by the company but it's also somewhere in the same building or a nearby building.

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Change is inevitable... Change for the better is not.
