Hi All,
We are unable to connect to the Database from the application servers .
From the application log we found the below error .
" ERROR [STDERR] javax.transaction.xa.XAException: java.sql.SQLException: Failed to create the XA control connection. Error: The TCP/IP connection to the host has failed. java.net.NoRouteToHostException: No route to host."
Database server is : SQL 2005 standard edition & sp3
IN SQL server error log we are not finding any errors and event viewer also .
Can you please share the thoughts on this .
The error is related to DB side or Application .
Thanks ,
Lavanya

That sounds like your application machine can't see the sql server. Can you ping the sql box from your app box and are the sql ports open in your firewall?

Sounds like you maybe some network issues at that point or something. Glad to hear it is working now.

may be there is a chance . But why we are getting the error like related to SQL server "javax.transaction.xa.XAException: java.sql.SQLException: Failed to create the XA control connection. Error: The TCP/IP connection to the host has failed.""

If you google that error it seems the issues is much like what the description says, the application server is unable to communicate with sql. Given that your app has been up and running for some time I would assume that those things are configured. That pretty much leaves network communication as the only thing left.

This is almost certainly a network issue. Can you ping the sql box from your app box?
