Please note that to view the SQL Server audit log generated by the Security Audit you will need CONTROL SERVER permission ( or at least SA ).
It was problematic for me, ( not a server admin , just a lowly database owner), so we had to had to use sys.fn_get_audit_file and put the results into a database\table.
I think its a bit of an oversight really.
I could create the Audit's, but could not view the log ( I believe the audits were correct, our sys admin said they were ).
