Hi,
i am getting error message while sending the mail by using the database mail configuration on sql server 2005 server
"The mail could not be sent to the recipients because of the mail server failure.
(Sending Mail using Account 1 (2010-04-22T02:13:56). Exception Message: Cannot send mails to mail server. (Mailbox unavailable. The server response was: 5.7.1 XXXXXXX.YYYYYYYY@AAAAAA.com>...
Relaying denied. IP name lookup failed [SS.XX.PP.DDD]). )
Can anybody help me to resovle this issue ?

I'm rusty on smtp servers, but the root of the problem could be the '5.7.1 relaying denied' part of the error. Mail servers can deny relaying between domains to restrict spamming. Try Googling '5.7.1 relaying denied' and hopefully you'll find something helpful.

You should contact your mail server admin and ask him/her to allow smtp relay for you sqlservers IP adress.

No. I'm not a mail server specialist.

I think Google .... euhm ... Bing may be your resource for this. 😉

e.g. I googled for "exchange smtp relay" and it came up with a number of hits.
