Hi All,
I am new to Analysis Service.
1.We have both SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition sp3 and Analysis Service on the same Windows 2003 server box.
2.Both services are running under LocalSystem Account and we are able to connect to SQL Server
Here comes the issue...
a.Create a new Database using Analysis Manager
b.Set the Data Source
Able to Select the SQL Server instance -> Connect using 'sa' -> Select the SQL Server Database -> Save
Refresh the DataSource -> 'Login failed for 'sa'
Please help
Thanks,
Nath

Two things I noticed when I started:
1. Install SP 3a for AS. You may as well go ahead and install SP 4 while you're at it, but most of the reasons I wanted that had to do with MDX issues, so you may not need it right away.
Myself, and others in my company, had problems with MSAS until we installed SP 3a, and then it was like a whole new world.
2. I had problems when I wasn't opting to save the password for sa. You may want to create a new, "less privileged" user for security reasons. That, or just risk the possibility of having your password stolen, letting someone loose in your DB as sa, and having things destroyed...
A minor setback I suppose, but it could give you something to do for the next few weeks...
