I know it sounds stupid but is there any way that data in a table can be modified thru enterprise manager

Yes, though I don't know of many who would recommend it. For SQL 2000 (don't remember if this worked in 7.0):
In EM, right click on a table in the database in question, select Open Table, return all rows. Pops up an editable grid.

I tried the same but it comes with an Error

if there are two same primary keys , it comes with an Error

You should check your permissions too, you might have to have admin\owner rights to do edits..
