data file size -imitations?

    hi,

    do you know about a sql 2000 limitation regarding the data file size?

    What is the best to do(for spped and reliability): many files of 10 G or a couple of 24 G for the same database?

    I would be interested in your opinion.

    32 TB is the largest file size

    Well I would probably put my larger tables in there own files, and on seperate disk subsystems if possable. Realy depends on disk config. On a simple single RAID5 system I would just leave it all in one file. unless I was going to run into the 32TB limit on a file... never had that happen to me though
