Data driven subscriptions

  • I want to e-mail a report on a daily basis. To do this, I use data driven subscriptions in Reporting Services.

I have 2 questions regarding data driven subscriptions:

    - When you create a data driven subscription, you can specify the values for the report parameters. On this screen, I don't see every report parameter. My report has four parameters, but I don't see the first parameter, only the last three. The first parameter is not a default parameter. Why isn't the first parameter shown?

    - When you choose 'Report E-mail' for a data driven subscription, you can enter the subject for the e-mail.

Can I use the value of a report parameter in the subject? A report parameter of my report is 'Month', I want to show the month in the subject. Is this possible?

  • Hi Nils,

I have done the same as you, but I saw all parameter?!

But I think I can help you with the second question:

In the data driven subscription wizard (I think it's the third page) you can type in a command text (select-statement) where you can select email-adresses where to send, the priority for sending, the renderformat, and also the subject, in your case something like 'report for month ' + ... On the next page of the wizard (extension settings) you can fill out the delivery settings for report server email. You can use a static text, the default value and all the query result fields of the select statement you typed in the command text one page before.

    Hope this helps you!

    Helmut

P.S. One question from my side:

I also get the message of the email from the select-statement. But how can I format strings like tabs and carriage return within the message?

    Thanks bye
