Hello
We're considering having daily Perfmon counters running all day monitoring our SQL Servers. Having read a lot of articles there doesn't seem to be anything concerning running Perfmon counters throughout the day to capture running performance details.
What is your opinion on this and how often should they be run, every minute?

run it about every 5 min,,,that should be plenty.I run mine often send it to csv file. then export to excel
Just make sure you run it from a non sql server so you dont take up any SQL resources

Thanks. Does yours run all day?

I don't run perfmon all day, but I do run Microsoft Operations Manager 24/7 and it's consuming performance monitor counters. As long as you're not collecting too much data or refreshing that data too frequently, this is a fine way to operate.
